Cut-leaved Cranesbill - Geranium dissectum

Native hairy annual growing to 50cm (19.5in). widespread and common, more so in the south. Found on roadsides, disturbed ground, hedge banks, wasteground and cultivated soils. Leaves of this Geranium are deeply dissected into narrow lobes, with light pink flowers 8-10mm (0.25-0.5in) appearing May to September, petals sometimes notched.

Other species in the family - Herb Robert (G. robertainium), Dove's-foot Cranesbill (G. molle), Shining Cranesbill (G. lucidum), Round Leaved Cranesbill (G. rotundifolium), Bloody Cranesbill (G. sanguieum), Small flowered Cranesbill (G. pusillum), Rock Cranesbill (G. macrorrhizum), Long Stalked Cranesbill (G. columbinum), Wood Cranesbill (G. sylvaticum) with purple flowers, Dusky Cranesbill (G. phaeum) has black/purple or brown flowers and Meadow Cranesbill (G. pratense) with violet/blue lowers.
