Many thanks to Fay Newbury at Reading University for the identification of this Lichen species – Phaeophyscia orbicularis.

A grey or grey–brown foliose lichen with narrow lobes.  The centre of the thallus shows areas where granules are breaking out from inside the thallus.  Widespread and common on rock, nutrient–rich bark, twigs and stone, also found on concrete and roads in urban areas, often in company with Physcia and Xanthoria species as indicators of nitrogen enrichment.

Basic species description for Lichens, other Lichen species in Brickfields Park.
