Red Dead Nettle - Lamium purpureum

Height to about 31cm (12in), this annual of cultivated ground and wastelands is widespread and common throughout the country. Leaves are heart-shaped, with toothed edges and are on stalks. Purple / pink flowers 10 - 17mm (0.4 - 0.7in) long, are borne in whorls on upright stems from March-October and are favoured by bees, popular with insects.
