Our stand at Bells Piece Gardeners Day 2004

Saturday 14th May, Bells Piece - Gardeners Open Day, 10am - 3pm, Bells Piece, Farnham.  We again attended this very popular event held every year at Bells Piece Horticulture, Hale Road, Farnham.  With local conservation, interest and wildlife organisations, cafeteria, games, "Gardeners Question Time" and plants at bargain prices from this popular horticulture charity.  Brickfields Country Park were there with the display stand, leaflets & photos to show the work of our volunteers and tell them about the park.  As always promised a good time was had at Bells Piece helping them to raise funds, and us to promote Brickfields Country Park, meeting friends old and new.  The day was particularly cold and overcast for the time of year.

Funday 2005

Sunday 3rd July, Brickfields Country Park - "Fur & Feathers" Wildlife Fun Day. 11am to 4pm.  (location map) With Millers Ark Animals Mobile Farm, displays and stalls from local environment and wildlife groups, hot and cold refreshments, games, quizzes, bouncy castle, tombola, cake stall and our own brand "Brickfields" jams.  Coffee and Tea from our refreshments are all "Fair Trade" products.  As usual Millers Ark Animals proved to be very popular drawing young and old to their display of Ducks, Goats, Geese, Rabbits, Cattle, Chickens Pigs and other farmyard animals.

Another clichéd phrase - but yet again "our best year yet".  Visitors started to stream in just before opening time and were still playing the games well after the closing time had gone!  Yet again the cakes and jams sold out by mid afternoon, even though we had made twice as much as last year!

Sponsored again this year by The Hire Center, in St. Josephs Road Aldershot, who kindly help out with a large diesel generator to provide our electrical needs.  Without the help of local companies we would at times be unable to do some of our work in the park and also stage events like the Fun Day.  Our grateful thanks go to them.

Booking for 2006 at this popular local event is now in hand, if you would like to take part, book space or just for further information email

Sunday 24th July, RSPCA 8th Annual Gala Day & Fun Dog Show, 11am - 4:00pm, Mytchett, Surrey.  Dog Show, Dog Agility Show, Craft & Charity Stalls, Bar, Hot & Cold Food, Refreshments, Bouncy Castle, Kids play area, and lots more attractions.  Brickfields Country Park were there with the display stand, games, leaflets & photos to show the work of our volunteers and tell the public about the park.  What a day! rain, rain and yet more rain, could not be helped I suppose.  We managed to get set up before it really started but it then just kept on going.  A great shame for this event as it is usually very well attended.  This year most of our visitors to the stand were just the people attending the dog show.

Sunday 2nd October, The Rushmoor Green Family Fun Day, 11am - 4:30pm, Princes Hall, Aldershot.  Rushmoor"s regular free family event with a "Global Environment and Cultural Diversity" theme.  Attractions included competitions, local voluntary group stands, percussion bands, flower displays and more.  Brickfields Country Park were there with the display stand, games, leaflets & photos to show the work of our volunteers and tell the public about the park.
