Sycamore - Acer pseudoplantanus
Grows up to 35m (115ft) with a broad crown and scaly bark. A introduced native of Central and Southern Europe but now naturalized, widely planted. 5 lobed leaves have toothed margins. Flowers during May to June comprising hanging, yellowish green clusters. Fruits resembling propellers form wings of paired fruits at an angle of 90 degrees. Tolerates salt-spray. Several forms are planted in parks and gardens.
